I wanted to close out this series with a riot of color and movement, which I believe I have achieved in this painting. Hummingbirds are magical little beasts, and when we moved to our new home in Chapmantown I discovered that the fountain in our front yard played host to many little songbirds and a family of hummingbirds! I took photos of local wildflowers on my hikes through Bidwell and this painting was born - inspired by the urban and natural jungles we inhabit.
