My family had quail families running all around our property in Paradise, CA, and we always called the babies "thumbs" because that's what they looked like dashing across our driveway! Quail are gorgeous and goofy birds, one of my absolute favorites (my first ever tattoo was of a quail!), and they needed a place in my "Birds of Bidwell" series. Blackberry bushes make perfect Quail homes and I wanted something cool, dark, and moody in the series, so here is "Home in the Blackberries."
