I captured a moment on a run/hike up the North Rim trail one day in November that was pure magic. It was quiet, blanketed by fog that made the world claustrophobic in its smallness, but in that closeness was a kind of safety. The cold womb of the atmosphere pressed against me as I moved through it, and I didn’t listen to music or podcasts that day so I could fully enjoy the stillness of the morning. The Peregrine Falcon is a bird silent in its flight, stoic as that foggy morning, and seemed like an appropriate guardian of the scene.
