I created this Sabbat series as my own way to embody and meditate on the Wheel of the Year. Each piece features a Goddess who corresponds with the Sabbat, or the Spirit of the Season as I interpret it. The originals are made with acrylic on canvas with tracing paper drawings for the figures.
Ostara, Goddess of Spring, bears witness to new life in Bidwell Park. The background is from a photo I took on a hike in Upper Bidwell Park, and her rabbit is a black-footed jackrabbit, which is a local bunny you might be lucky to see further up on the trails in the park. This is the first painting I created in this series!
