8x10 inches

Acrylic, Paper, Pencil, Canvas Board

St. Catherine of Bologna, the Incorruptible, Patron Saint of Artists, whose inexplicably mummified body can still be viewed today at the Chapel of the Poor Clares in Bologna, Italy. The story goes that after she was buried, a sweet smell emanated from her grave, and because people were curious about it I guess, they dug her back up… and discovered her body had not begun to rot, which to Catholics meant she was Incorruptible, or so holy that her body would not decay. Thus you get your half-mummified Patron Saint of the Arts.
