Revel in the fecundity of spring on May Day with this rich, beautiful artwork featuring the Maiden on Beltane. Does the painting show a bright moonrise or low sunset? Does it matter? The air is rich with the delicate scent of flowers and grasses as the trees sway in the near-summer breeze as the Maiden dances down the trail.
I created this Sabbat series as my own way to embody and meditate on the Wheel of the Year. Each piece features a Goddess who corresponds with the Sabbat, or the Spirit of the Season as I interpret it. The originals are made with acrylic on canvas with tracing paper drawings for the figures.
