Desert Dreams
DAYCAMP COFFEE ☼ MAY 2024
The desert is in my blood.
My ancestors are from the American Southwest and Mexico.
My great grandmother lived on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and also painted the landscapes that seemed to enchant her as much as they do me. It is a magical place, full of terrible beauty and harsh lessons. The desert is also a landscape that we should get used to as the surface of our planet continues to warm by degrees. This show is an homage to the desert, which I have been exploring in my art since 2016, and to the flora, fauna, and phenomena that inhabit it.
Reception May 18, 6-8pm
